Everest Legacy Fund Foundation

Applications are open to children and youth ages 4–17 living in the Greater Nelson area (Electoral Areas E & F - Approximately Balfour to South Slocan). Funding is limited, and priority may be given to families demonstrating the greatest need.

The Everest Legacy Fund is a living tribute to Everest’s spirit

Supporting families through grief, hardship, and the everyday challenges that test emotional strength and connection. We help remove financial barriers to trauma-informed care, as well as sport, arts, and play—so that children and parents can heal, grow, and carry love forward, together.

What We Support

We support these three areas—grief and trauma support, children’s access to sports and the arts, and community healing— because they nurture the emotional, creative, and relational foundations that help children and families grow with resilience. Whether in the wake of loss or in everyday life, these supports foster healing, expression, connection, and strength, ensuring that young people and their communities are empowered to face challenges with courage and thrive with hope.

Grief & Trauma Support
We offer funding to help cover the cost of grief and trauma therapy for families navigating loss or hardship. Because healing, connection, and compassionate care should never be out of reach.

Children’s Sports & Arts Access
We help cover the costs of registration, equipment, and access so that every child has the chance to participate in sports. Because movement, connection, and a sense of belonging are essential to healing and growing strong.
